It was previously a tehsil of the\u00a0Bagh District but was elevated to the district status on 1 July 2009.<sup id=\"cite_ref-3\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup><\/h5>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the\u00a02017 census, the district has a population of 152,124.<sup id=\"cite_ref-city_2-1\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup>The main native languages are\u00a0Pahari\u00a0(estimated to be spoken by around 65% of the inhabitants),\u00a0Gujari\u00a0(<abbr title=\"circa\">c.<\/abbr>\u00a030%), and\u00a0Kashmiri\u00a0(<abbr title=\"circa\">c.<\/abbr> 5%).Haveli District has many tourism places such as:<\/h5>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>\n<h5>Neilferi meadows<\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h5>Hillan waterfall<\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h5>Badori<\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h5>Mahmood Gali<\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"Administration\" class=\"mw-headline\" style=\"color: #003300;\">Administration<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5><\/h5>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Haveli District is divided into three tehsils:<\/h5>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>\n<h5>Haveli Tehsil (Kahutta)<\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h5>Khurshidabad Tehsil<\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h5>Mumtazabad Tehsil<\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><\/h5>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"Geography\" class=\"mw-headline\" style=\"color: #003300;\">Geography<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Haveli District is situated at a high altitude of approximately 8,000 feet above sea level. Heavy snowfall occurs regularly throughout the year. Darra Haji Peer, Lasdana, Sindhgala, Neel Kunth, Aliabad, Sheraziabad, Kalamula, Jabbi Syedan,hallan jaunbi and Mohri Syed Ali are all well known tourist locations. The Bedori Top, at 12,228 feet, is the highest peak in the district.Many people from the district have migrated abroad, and some of them serve in key positions in Pakistan.
